After charging the battery, I started right in using it to surf the web and do e-mails. The battery really does seem to last for 8 - 9 hours between charges. I read reviews on several brands of netbooks and kept coming back to this one. It's a great buy,has a sufficiently large keyboard, and convenient to use.
