July 26, 2009 – The search for extra-terrestrial life

Have you ever wondered if there’s life out there in the great unknown? With science fiction fueling our dreams & imagination, the big question of “Are we alone in this universe?” is one that we’ll always be asking and this week, we asked it to one of the people responsible for looking.

This week on the Grill, we talked to Noel Welstead from the SETI, also known as the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence. To find out more about SETI, hit this link!

This week we were inundated with useless gadgets, so much so that we brought one in and talked about the rest.

Plus news this week with the Queensland police protect your WiFi, yet another useless movie format for Disney, laser to replace the spark plug, Apple fights Palm, and a lot more on this Gadget Grill.

Tonight, our music generally sat on jazz & blues, but if you wanted to know what we played, here’s the list…

  1. Casualties of Jazz – The Wizard (from “Kind of Black”)
  2. The Rolling Stones – Honky Tonk Women (from “Hot Rocks”)
  3. David Bowie – Life On Mars? (from “Hunky Dory”)
  4. The Tango Saloon – March Of The Big Shoe (from “The Tango Saloon”)
  5. B.B. King – The Thrill Is Gone (from “Live In Cook County Jail”)

Next week, a topic that’ll set the room on fire. Well, not literally. Maybe, actually. Find out what it is on Sunday… see you then!
