Earlier this week Gizmodo reported that scientists recently discovered that an important protein, ovocledidin-17 (OC-17), is needed in order to speed up the egg shell’s development. As this protein is found in the ovaries of a chicken, it is quite clear that the chicken must exist in order to produce an egg.
