Who would have thought to do a scientific study to see if food, having fallen onto the floor, would pick up germs? Some scientists from Clemson University – obviously with way too much time and funding on their hands – did. They wanted to test to see if the five second rule was true or not.
And the results? Who’d have thunk it? They discovered that bacteria could be transferred very quickly, and in much less time than five seconds.
Colour me surprised. But not very.
