Hedging One’s Bets

One of the charming aspects of touring through the UK is that of visiting some of the castles and estates, many of which have mazes of varying difficulty.

And the operators of those mazes have noticed a significant decline in the time being taken by their patrons in completing the challenge of the maze, and the reason for this is that these patrons have been using their smartphones’ GPS sytems and cameras to work out how to extricate themselves from the maze in a much shorter timeframe.

While that might seem to them to be interesting, or even fun, I suspect that they;re actually missing the point.

Are they actually being smart? No, I don’t think so.
