March 29, 2009 – Spam, spam, egg & bacon, spam

Pop open a can of the meat that never dies because this episode we’re talking all about Spam.

Call us crazy and probably far too observant, but we’ve noticed a ton more spam than usual so we’re getting it off of our chests and talking about what it is, why it effects you, why it’s increasing, and what you can do to stop it.

Plus if you’ve got a Nikon camera, you can say Happy Birthday to it this week as the Nikon F-mount turned 50 this week. We’ll take a look at some new Nikon toys that have been loaned to us for our celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Nikon lens mount!

All that plus news on giant helicopters that are also hotels, inappropriate Facebook images, what’s happening with ACMA, and a bunch of stuff more!

Apologies for the volume overkill this week. Studio A has some issues with the recording device we use and we’re still trying to find a way to make the levels good for when we go on the air.

Play

Every week, there’s between four and five songs played on our show. Being that we’re allowed to pick what we want, we try to pick things that sound interesting and cool. This week, we went for…

  1. Mel Torme – Comin’ Home Baby (from “Comin’ Home Baby!”)
  2. Little Birdy – Come On Come On (from “Come On Come On EP”)
  3. The Dear Hunter – Smiling Swine (Remix) (from “Random EP #2”)
  4. Drawn From Bees – Long Tooth Setting Sun (from “And The Blind Shall Lead The Way”)
  5. Dave Brubeck Quartet – Take Five (from “Park Avenue South”)

More cool music next week as well as a look on secure passwords and just how important your data is. All that and more next week, catch you then!
